This is a good airport hotel, convenient location, free shuttle, decent free breakfast, and reasonable price. A little dated and no elevator but otherwise had everything we needed.

Country Inn and Suites in San José's Cariari area offers a tranquil retreat near Juan Santamaría Airport, ideal for both initial and concluding nights in Costa Rica. Guests can enjoy two swimming pools amidst tropical gardens, a complimentary fitness center, and convenient dining options. The hotel serves as an excellent base for exploring Central Valley attractions like Poás Volcano and coffee tours, or for business travelers needing high-speed internet and meeting facilities.
Two swimming pools and tropical gardens give Country Inn and Suites a welcome pause between travel days. In San José's Cariari area, near Juan Santamaría Airport, the hotel works well for a first or last night in Costa Rica, with enough space to settle in rather than simply wait for a flight.
Cariari puts airport days and regional outings into the same stay. Poás Volcano, coffee visits, museums, the National Theater, rafting and ziplining can shape time beyond the pools. Nearby restaurants, bars, casinos and shopping—from local stores and craft markets to larger malls—add options for an evening or a spare afternoon. Ask your planner about specific attractions, including INBio Park and zoo visits, before arranging a day around them.
Standard Rooms include air conditioning, cable television, coffee-making facilities and a safe, plus a hair dryer, telephone and iron with ironing board. Complimentary daily newspapers are part of their inclusions. Junior Suites add separate living rooms to those comforts; the Presidential Suite's kitchenette and living room with a sofa bed make more independent time possible. Executive Rooms include a complimentary breakfast buffet in a private lounge and 3 free minutes of local calls; confirm that category when planning your stay.
A buffet breakfast, a swim among the gardens and time in the free guest fitness center can make a travel day feel pleasantly settled. The business center and high-speed internet support work between outings, and the meeting room is available to rent. Cribs and special requirements can be requested in advance. The restaurant and bar keep dining and evening drinks close at hand.

Cannot say much as we arrived at 8:30 and left at 4:30 am, but staff was very attentive and room was very clean and comfortable.

the breakfast here was surprisingly one of the tastiest I had during the trip!

Everyone was super helpful and friendly

The room we had for the last night was really great. The one we had for the first night was OK but with some problems (was not super clean and the shower was leaking)

Not very clean airport hotel

We arrived late in the evening and were hungry. The hotel restaurant was open late and we had a wonderful meal.

Very nice room. We left early in the morning and they gave us a bag breakfast.

such a small room for two beds. facilities need updating.

There was an odd short step into the room and if we were not very aware of the step it might have caused us a problem; tripping or falling. We reminded each other every time we entered the room.

The rooms were small with no chairs. We ate at the hotel's restaurant and the food was just okay. But overall it served its purpose as a place to sleep before departure the next morning.

I rated this experience at the Hotel higher than during our arrival, because the room was more spacious - again separate sleeping areas and this time we had hot water in our showers!

We were only there for 10 hours due to an early 3 am rise to catch our flight but the staff kindly had little box lunches for us since we would miss our breakfast

Everyone was super nice and made sure we were comfortable!

Arletta and all the front desk staff were the best! They made us feel comfortable and helped with everything we wanted and needed including calling a taxi and making sure we were safe and not overcharged.

Was appropriate for the last night before going to airport

Like a college dorm room. 3rd floor room with no elevator. After arriving at 1130...hotel was empty but rooms were not ready till 3pm. We had to get up at 3am and carry our luggage down 3 flights of stairs....not as expected

Great resting stop after long flight. They arranged a personal tour of the city with fun driver.

Room was small

I expected less for the price. The agents were really nice. They allowed me to "try Spanish" on them.

VERY small rooms, staff was very accommodating - but we had to get another room with a King size bed so all of us would be able to sleep comfortably. No elevators, which is difficult with my arthritis. Nce breakfast buffet.

Everything was fine since we were only staying one night, but if I wouldn't want to stay here longer. The staff were friendly and helpful and the breakfast was good. The hotel itself is laid out a little strangely. We needed 2 rooms and were put in 2 different buildings. There wasn't an elevator so we had to haul our luggage up 3 flights. The room wasn't down a hallway it was basically in the stairwell. The bed and pillow weren't that comfortable and the air conditioner was very noisy.

Very small rooms, but clean and staff was nice. We were only there for a few hours of sleep, then off to airport early the next morning. So only real comment is the room size.
Gretta J.
It was all really great but we had to carry our bags up 3 flights of stairs and we were really tired by then, so it was very hard work.
Chantal L.
We were there less than 12 hours. Clean, comfortable and close to the airport.
