Great location, wonderful beach front. The entire town had a friendly helpful atmosphere about it. The bell hop was the best of all.
Find your place to stay
Tamarindo Diria Resort brings together Playa Tamarindo beach access, multiple pools and dining in a lively town setting. Rooms are on the oceanfront or across the street, with family and adults-only choices that create different stays. Compare section and room category before booking; balconies, terraces and private water features vary. Choose Diria for a vacation that can move easily between resort hours, surfing and coastal outings.
Golden sand and the energy of town come together at Tamarindo Diria Resort. The property fronts Playa Tamarindo, putting a beach outing, a swim and a meal within the rhythm of a resort stay. Surfing gives the shoreline its lively character, while pools and places to relax invite you to enjoy an afternoon without planning another excursion.
Location within the resort matters. Accommodation is available on the oceanfront and across the street in family or couples sections. An ocean-oriented room, a family pool setting and an adults-only Tropicana room create different experiences, so consider both the outlook and the section when booking.
Rooms and suites bring tropical colors and modern comforts into the stay, with balconies or terraces in some categories. The sunset ocean-view option emphasizes the coast; family pool-view rooms keep the pool setting close. Selected Tropicana categories add a Jacuzzi or plunge pool. Use the room details to choose the experience you want rather than expecting the same outdoor space or features throughout the property.
Multiple swimming pools let you vary the day, including an oceanfront pool with Pacific views. Take time for a swim, settle beside the water or head onto the beach. Direct access to Playa Tamarindo makes the shoreline a natural part of the stay, with beach chairs and umbrellas adding convenience to time by the sand.
Surf lessons offer a way to join the activity on this well-known surfing beach, while a walk or a leisurely pause lets you enjoy it at your own pace. Back at the resort, dining spans casual beachside meals and more formal settings, with seafood, Costa Rican dishes and international flavors. Fresh, locally sourced ingredients connect the meals with the region, while bars and lounges invite you to extend the evening with a tropical cocktail or an artisanal spirit.
Tamarindo’s setting makes it easy to combine hotel time with a livelier vacation. Wildlife tours, jungle zip-lining and national-park outings can add adventure beyond the resort. Massages and facials at the spa provide a quieter counterpoint when you return. Diria’s appeal is the combination: a beach-town stay with enough variety on site to enjoy a day close to your accommodation, provided you choose the right section for your trip.

This was a beautiful hotel, great wet bar (with soda for the girl!) and a BEAUTIFUL view for breakfast!!

Hot tub was just luke warm, needed to be much hotter. Would have been nice to have lawn chairs down by the water that belonged to the hotel that we could enjoy. Appreciated the hotel accommodating our request to have side by side rooms with our kids.

This hotel was not up to our expectations for the cost. We will not stay there again when we return to Costa Rica. The staff was unfriendly and lowered the overall experience for this stay.

This was a beautiful resort close to the beach.

Adult poolside bar was the absolute best! Luis the bartender was outstanding! Oceanside bar was absolutely horrible. Next time we will not stay in that area but by the adult pool/bar.

Amazing hotel and location!

Very nice resort, just didn't like Tamarindo in particular. It was too busy with tourists and peddlers.

We were in the oldest part of the hotel, the rooms were small, but the views were well worth it. The hotel was gorgeous. We spent a lot of time at the Adults only pool. Special Shout out to the bartender LUIS. This man made the experience perfect. We couldn't have asked for a more attentive activity leader. This man did it all. Sang, made the best drinks, told jokes, ordered our lunches and was a great conversational asset. We love you LUIS!!!!!

we had a pleasant stay and the staff was excellent and enjoyed practicing English. The breakfasts were plentiful. i wish there were screens on our terrace doors so we could open them at night and hear the ocean instead of the traffic.

This is the highlight of the whole trip. It just does not get better! Scenery AMAZING! Accomodation AMAZING! Food AMAZING! The greater "Randall" was the ultimate in Customer Service and so friendly. The pool Bartender was hilarious and so much fun to hang out with. Tons of great shopping, lots to do just hanging around. I am trying to talk our young adult kids to plan their weddings here! I LOVED IT.. LOVED IT!

Good hotel, middle of town, liked that I could order and have my room billed when running around in swim trunks. Room wasn't what we ordered, so we had to make due with two twins, instead of the large single bed we had reserved. That's my only real complaint. Breakfast was pretty good and the food at the varying parts of the hotel (the beachside restaurant and pizza parlor) was pretty good.

We enjoyed exploring the town on foot and the easy beach access. Our room had a wonderful view of the ocean. The room itself was spacious but was a basic hotel room. There were some visible repairs to wall plaster / paint in several places. We enjoyed the balcony. The room key was problematic. This was especially frustrating when we had walked up three flight to our floor. We had to have the keys replaces several times. We enjoyed meals in the restaurants associated with the hotel. Our favourite was the Garden of Eden. We also enjoyed some wonderful meals in other independent restaurants in town. The woman at Guest Services was very helpful We enjoyed the pools and walking the beach.

Air conditioning unit loud. Noise at restaurants next door.

I loved watching the lizards on the walls.

Beautiful, great location!

The only down side to this is that my wife and I stayed here 17 years ago on our honeymoon. We weren't quite prepared for how big the resort had grown in that time and our expectations of a smaller hotel weren't what we found. But 2 days in the new place grew on us and I really came to enjoy it. It still had everything would want in a hotel and we enjoyed the Lagoon pool every afternoon after a morning in the ocean.

Loved this place. It was exactly what we wanted. Pricey but fabulous. Love the Iguanas roaming about.
I did not like this place. The morning after we checked in I wanted to go home. Nobody was nice.

Rude staff! We had several issues when we were at this hotel. The breakfast was the worst part. Not enough seating and uncooked eggs. I would not stay here again.

Perfect location in the heart of the action. We didn't have towels in our room until day 2, but that wasn't a big problem. Just used our beach towels.
Emma V.
It took 4 hours for us to receive a room key and we were just sitting in the reception the whole time. I know they were busy but I wish they've would have tried to locate another room. Otherwise everything was good!

This place is un real. So amazing. The lagoon pools are top notch and the beaches and great. The hotel has 6 restaurants connected that are amazing.. This resort is beautiful.. Hands down the sickest spot on the trip.. Worth every penny.. 10/10
