Hotel Punta Leona Beach and Nature Resort

Herradura

Good to Know

Hotel Punta Leona Beach and Nature Resort offers a distinctive blend of white-sand beaches and tropical rainforest on Costa Rica's Central Pacific coast. This 3-star resort provides diverse accommodations, from comfortable rooms to spacious villas, catering to families and groups. Guests can enjoy multiple swimming pools, varied dining, and a range of activities from water sports to guided nature walks, all while the resort emphasizes environmental conservation. It's an ideal destination for those seeking both coastal relaxation and nature exploration.

Beach days with a rainforest backdrop

White-sand beaches and tropical rainforest give Hotel Punta Leona Beach and Nature Resort a two-part appeal. On Costa Rica’s Central Pacific coast, the shore invites time in the sun, while the forest and surrounding natural areas draw you toward a different kind of exploring. Pools, restaurants and recreation bring those possibilities together in a resort stay with room for more than one pace.

Choose how your group will settle in

Accommodation runs from comfortable rooms to spacious villas, giving families and groups choices about how to settle in. Modern comforts, balconies or terraces, and ocean or garden outlooks vary by option. Compare the particular accommodation you will book; a room used between active days and a villa with more space can suit different versions of the same vacation.

Beach days and resort recreation

Several swimming pools give you reasons to spend time on the grounds, including an infinity pool with ocean views. A swim can lead into a casual poolside meal, or an evening at one of the restaurants serving local and international cuisine. Those dining choices let different members of the group enjoy the resort in their own way.

The beach brings another invitation: walk the white-sand shore, spend an unhurried hour on the sand, or plan swimming, kayaking or snorkeling around the day’s conditions. Tennis, fitness facilities, water sports and a kids’ club broaden the recreation, useful when a family wants to share the trip without choosing every activity together.

Discover the forest beyond the shore

Guided nature walks and birdwatching explore the region’s flora and fauna, with Carara National Park adding interest beyond the resort. Birds, monkeys and sloths are among the wildlife you may look for; sightings remain possibilities rather than promises. The attraction is the combination of coast and forest, with opportunities to notice more of both.

Recycling, environmental conservation and efforts to minimize the resort’s carbon footprint are part of its approach to the setting. Punta Leona suits a trip where beach days, resort recreation and nature outings all have their place. You can keep a day on the grounds, take another into the region, and let the family’s different interests shape the stay. Compare nearby accommodation in the Herradura-area hotel guide.

Different restaurant choices, really enjoyed the buffet at Restaurante Cenizaro

Ronald T.

We enjoyed the Mariposario Punta Leona and the scarlet macaws that nested near it. It was comical when a Capuchin monkey got beyond the netting and onto the tables in the hotel's Restaurante Carabelas. However, the food was actually better at the Restaurante El Cenizaro of the adjacent Hotel Arenas en Punta Leona.
