Find your place to stay
Hotel Le Cameleon offers a distinctive boutique experience just south of Puerto Viejo, blending crisp white interiors with lush jungle gardens. Guests enjoy direct access to Noa Beach Club on Playa Cocles, alongside a hotel swimming pool, cool-water Jacuzzi, and a serene treehouse spa. Dining at Ocho y Medio Restaurant provides modern international cuisine, while a range of rooms, beachfront suites, and five-bedroom villas cater to diverse preferences. This sophisticated retreat provides a tranquil escape, yet remains conveniently close to Puerto Viejo's vibrant scene.
White interiors with bright accents give Hotel Le Cameleon a crisp contrast to the jungle around it. Just south of Puerto Viejo, the boutique hotel brings a garden setting together with beach time at Noa Beach Club, across the street on the southern end of Playa Cocles. You can make the coast part of each day while returning to a room with its own deliberately simple style.
At the beach club, hammocks, daybeds, chairs and shaded areas encourage you to settle in. A small restaurant and bar keep refreshments close. Back at the hotel, the swimming pool and cool-water Jacuzzi provide a different place to pause, while the treehouse spa brings massages and treatments into a setting accompanied by jungle sounds and waves. At the treehouse spa, therapists can help you choose the treatment that appeals to you.
Ocho y Medio Restaurant combines a rustic atmosphere with contemporary decor and modern international cooking. Stay for a meal or a tropical cocktail, then let the evening take shape without rushing back into town. Puerto Viejo’s shops, restaurants and bars are about five minutes away by car or fifteen by bike when you want a livelier change of scene.
Room location is worth considering. Superior Rooms are upstairs with balconies overlooking gardens; Deluxe Rooms are on the ground floor with garden terraces. Larger Junior Suites sit near the pool and Jacuzzi and can be adapted for families using a full-size sofa bed. The secluded upper-floor Le Cameleon Suite offers 70 square meters, a lounge, a garden-view bathtub, a full-size sofa bed and an additional half-bath.
Rain showers and air conditioning give the white rooms familiar comforts after time on the coast. Satellite television, mini-refrigerators, safe deposit boxes, phones, room Wi-Fi and iPod or iPhone docking stations add to the rooms’ everyday comforts. Wi-Fi in common areas is available in some spaces, so choose where you would like to pause between plans.
For a different stay arrangement, beachfront suite categories provide a coastal outlook, while Villa Cerise, Villa Paparazzi and Villa Frida have five bedrooms, kitchens, living and dining rooms, terraces and swimming pools. Compare these arrangements with the garden rooms when party size or time along the shore matters to you, and confirm the category’s setting with your vacation specialist.
White-sand beaches backed by palms and rainforest make the Southern Caribbean a coast worth exploring. Cahuita National Park and Gandoca-Manzanillo Wildlife Refuge offer wildlife and beach outings. Snorkeling is especially appealing from March through early May and late August through late October, while November through April is the main surfing period for Cocles and Salsa Brava. Keep conditions in mind when planning, and balance those outings with the beach club and hotel spaces you have come to enjoy.

Another great choice in Hotel. We were amazed on the size of our suite. View of the Ocean was awesome! Dined at IL Fiore Rossi restaurant across the street. Best meal of our trip! Again, another great birthday surprise 😮 balloons and candle….felt really special to still be celebrating!

Rooms were a bit worn. And the breakfast fast was difficult bc there weren’t a lot of times.

The staff would sometimes get short with us when we would ask questions. The couples massage we received was not very good.

The room were musty. But the breakfast was good.

Practically nothing to complain - just the humidity in the rooms which is affecting the comfort and great experience

The hotel is in a good location, as it is away from the town. There are several eating establishments within walking distance. However, we were advised not to stray too far from the hotel due to safety concerns.

Although the room was very clean, the hotel as a whole lacked maintenance in most areas i.e. lack of landscaping, rotting boardwalks and bathroom ceiling with water damage.
