Country Inn and Suites in San José's Cariari area offers a tranquil retreat near Juan Santamaría Airport, ideal for both initial and concluding nights in Costa Rica. Guests can enjoy two swimming pools amidst tropical gardens, a complimentary fitness center, and convenient dining options. The hotel serves as an excellent base for exploring Central Valley attractions like Poás Volcano and coffee tours, or for business travelers needing high-speed internet and meeting facilities.
Two swimming pools and tropical gardens give Country Inn and Suites a welcome pause between travel days. In San José's Cariari area, near Juan Santamaría Airport, the hotel works well for a first or last night in Costa Rica, with enough space to settle in rather than simply wait for a flight.
Cariari puts airport days and regional outings into the same stay. Poás Volcano, coffee visits, museums, the National Theater, rafting and ziplining can shape time beyond the pools. Nearby restaurants, bars, casinos and shopping—from local stores and craft markets to larger malls—add options for an evening or a spare afternoon. Ask your planner about specific attractions, including INBio Park and zoo visits, before arranging a day around them.
Standard Rooms include air conditioning, cable television, coffee-making facilities and a safe, plus a hair dryer, telephone and iron with ironing board. Complimentary daily newspapers are part of their inclusions. Junior Suites add separate living rooms to those comforts; the Presidential Suite's kitchenette and living room with a sofa bed make more independent time possible. Executive Rooms include a complimentary breakfast buffet in a private lounge and 3 free minutes of local calls; confirm that category when planning your stay.
A buffet breakfast, a swim among the gardens and time in the free guest fitness center can make a travel day feel pleasantly settled. The business center and high-speed internet support work between outings, and the meeting room is available to rent. Cribs and special requirements can be requested in advance. The restaurant and bar keep dining and evening drinks close at hand.

Perfect for a 1 night stay before we headed to Manuel Antonio. We appreciated the breakfast that was included.
Convenient foe thw airport. Restaurant food was good. Very spacious

From the gentleman who took our bags to the room, the reception and the restaurant staff were great, I am extremely grateful as we were able to get into our room ahead of normal check-in. We also were very pleased to be able to get something to eat in the restaurant. With our very early wakeup -transit to the airport - I was pleased with the hotel

It met expectations. We were expecting to be there for less than 12 hours so we were not expecting anything other than a room and a bed.

Staff was very helpful. The hotel restaurant and pool area was very nice, and the breakfast was great. The location wasn't the greatest, but we were only there one night and it was very close to the airport, so that worked for us. The hotel itself was a little odd in its layout. There were no elevators, which meant carrying suitcases up and down stairs. And the hallways were very narrow, again meaning transporting suitcases was a little challenging. The room was fine, but the window shades didn't seem to work and the TV was hard to understand how to operate. But, as stated, since this was just a one-night stay since our flight arrived in San Jose late, it suited our purposes adequately.

We were only here overnight. The breakfast was good and the pool was attractive. Wifi not great. Not much around the hotel so we had nowhere to go to kill time as we were waiting for our transfer.

We opted for this hotel over the original recommendation because it was cheaper and closer to the airport. We were arriving at midnight and leaving early in the morning so we didn't want to travel far and just needed a bed and breakfast. I was completely satisfied with this hotel and glad we opted for it. Bed was comfy.

only there to sleep, so was ok.

Very clean and comfortable final nights stay before the airport. The pool is nice to relax next to. Staff was extremely friendly and helpful.

Old and not well maintained. A bit of let down for first night of vacation. However it was cost effective and we got in late. Breakfast was very good

Somehow it felt like we were outside of the city already. Beautiful gardens sound the pool. We were lucky to get a balcony room

Such a quick stop that we really didn’t get any staff interaction which is why i chose N/A

Slightly disappointed by the room we received. Stayed there a couple years ago and for a much nicer room for the same price. The room was in some disrepair and the view was out to a parking lot.

The room was a little dated, but it was clean and the bed was comfortable, which is all I really need. All the workers we met were very helpful.

The hotel was dated and we had to search for our own room. The beds were clean and comfortable. The look of the room was sad and I am glad we only stayed for the night. We couldn't put the blinds up as they were so old. The breakfast area was beautiful though and the staff was very nice.
Room was small, not a lot a room to move around in. The location and room needs updating.

Pillows way to big and hard. I loved having the 2nd bed in a separate room with its own bathroom.
Timothy M.
Everything was pretty good. A few minor problems with the first room with the blkinds and the back door not locking. The staff fixed the problems within a reasonable amount of time.
Ashley S.
Was unhappy that there was not an elevator and we had to lug our suitcases to the 3rd floor.
Travis S.
Took over 10 minutes of running water to get hot water in the shower
Janet M.
Only comment is there are much restaurants or bars within walking distance.
Jeffrey M.
Just ok

Ok hotel, the town San Jose is unbelievably ugly, I travel a lot, it disappointed me, will never visit again.
Julianne W.
Exceeded expectations. Wish we had time to try the inviting pool! The front desk staff was very kind to provide a bagged breakfast-to-go for our early checkout even though the kitchen wasn't yet open.
Kandarp S.
This is the one hotel that did not meet my expectations. The AC was not working and when it started working it started leaking water. The room was very low quality - the floors had water stains, not enough room to move around, the TV channels did not have any English programs, the bathroom was very small. Seems these are the rooms that are reserved for travelers making booking thru a travel agent.
