Country Inn and Suites in San José's Cariari area offers a tranquil retreat near Juan Santamaría Airport, ideal for both initial and concluding nights in Costa Rica. Guests can enjoy two swimming pools amidst tropical gardens, a complimentary fitness center, and convenient dining options. The hotel serves as an excellent base for exploring Central Valley attractions like Poás Volcano and coffee tours, or for business travelers needing high-speed internet and meeting facilities.
Two swimming pools and tropical gardens give Country Inn and Suites a welcome pause between travel days. In San José's Cariari area, near Juan Santamaría Airport, the hotel works well for a first or last night in Costa Rica, with enough space to settle in rather than simply wait for a flight.
Cariari puts airport days and regional outings into the same stay. Poás Volcano, coffee visits, museums, the National Theater, rafting and ziplining can shape time beyond the pools. Nearby restaurants, bars, casinos and shopping—from local stores and craft markets to larger malls—add options for an evening or a spare afternoon. Ask your planner about specific attractions, including INBio Park and zoo visits, before arranging a day around them.
Standard Rooms include air conditioning, cable television, coffee-making facilities and a safe, plus a hair dryer, telephone and iron with ironing board. Complimentary daily newspapers are part of their inclusions. Junior Suites add separate living rooms to those comforts; the Presidential Suite's kitchenette and living room with a sofa bed make more independent time possible. Executive Rooms include a complimentary breakfast buffet in a private lounge and 3 free minutes of local calls; confirm that category when planning your stay.
A buffet breakfast, a swim among the gardens and time in the free guest fitness center can make a travel day feel pleasantly settled. The business center and high-speed internet support work between outings, and the meeting room is available to rent. Cribs and special requirements can be requested in advance. The restaurant and bar keep dining and evening drinks close at hand.

Country Inn and Suites doesn’t have great reviews but the suite was great, basic but comfortable and plenty of space.

Economical and served the purpose. Just an overnight halt.

The hotel is clean but could use an upgrade. Fine for an overnight for the airport but I would not want to have an extended stay at this location.

This hotel was more dated than I expected and again, pretty uncomfortable beds. Nice pool and ok food. Location to the airport was good. I would stay at the Adventure Inn over the Country Inn and Suites if we were doing it again just because their food was so much better.

They serve the best Mushroom Risotto. Kind enough to leave breakfast snack as we left before breakfast served.

Nice hotel Great breakfast Lovely staff who helped us with breakfast and made sure we had enough veggie options The room we got smelled very dank and humid, in spite of turning on the a/c. The other room in our party was better. Also, there were no curtains, just a white screen - and so we woke up at 5 am itself when the room became really bright. We had a late night, so we were hoping to wake up late, so this wasn't convenient.

great for an airport hotel (were not there that long)

The bed wasn’t really comfortable

The hotel served its purpose. We made it to airport on time. There was a lot of walking to our room, and we had to lift our suitcases up a flight of steps. We did not see an elevator.

I wasn’t looking for much - just a quick overbite stay after airport arrival. Simple but nice place, decent food

The breakfast was great!

Excellent hotel with lots of space for the three of us, and separate beds for each of us. WiFi was perfect; our grandson loved the big computer in the lobby. Very good breakfast. Pleasant staff in restaurant and on desk, Stunning gardens and swimming pool. Dragging our suitcases up the stairs to the room was the only downside.

Great hotel! They checked us in as soon as we got there even though it was before check in and gave us a bigger room with three beds then what we were expecting. Such nice staff!!!

Older property but good location.

Nice pre flight hotel. Really glad we chose to drive to San Jose day before the flight. The restaurant at the hotel was really good too.

We had to ask to change rooms because ours smelled so bad and it was so noisy. But the front desk staff was very helpful and changed our room without any issues. The hotel itself was just ok. Not much to walk to around there and do and the bar wasn’t even open at the hotel. We had been staying at really nice places for our whole trip so we were a little disappointed at the below average level of this hotel. But we still enjoyed ourselves.
Carisa P.
Definitely not as nice as or comfortable as the other hotels we stayed in. We had to switch rooms because of noise and an odd smell in our room. Smelled like mold. But the staff was very nice about it.

We were given a very large room. Really enjoyed it. Staff answered all our questions regarding transfers and covid testing. We felt at ease.

VERY DISAPPOINTED WITH THIS HOTEL. VERY LOW QUALITY, GLAD WE GOT THERE LATE AND LEFT NEXT DAY, WOULD HAVE MOVED TO OTHER HOTEL IF WE STAYED LONGER THAN ONE DAY. TALKED WITH OTHER CLIENTS AND THEY FELT THE SAME WAY.
Rhonda H.
Too many stairs made moving luggage difficult.

Room was not good. Sure it was one night but it was one of the worst rooms I have stayed in. Place looked run down.
Mike B.
Very convenient, close to the airport and some good restaurants.
Amanda K.
There were no elevators and we had to go down a flight of stairs and up three more flights. It was an okay hotel for staying in the night before a flight but it wasn’t anything special.
Elisabeth R.
Since we got there fairly late in the day and had to leave so early in the am it was a pain to haul our luggage back and forth up to the 3rd floor. I guess it was to be expected for an airport hotel.
