Beautiful old hotel within the city limits. Expensive but enjoyable.
Room was a little noisy due to traffic . Breakfast was excellent.
Stunning hotel. Excellent restaurant. The rooms and common area were beautifully decorated. Comfortable beds. Spacious room. Our favorite hotel of the trip!
Beautiful hotel with great on-site restaurant
Excellent hotel with comfortable room and great restaurant
OK for one night.
Nice hotel but not located near much of interest.
The staff and the food were great.
The room was perfect and the staff was very friendly and helpful.
I was hoping for a pool, so that was disappointing. The lack of an elevator should have been noted ahead if time. I had an injured knee and steps were painful. Beautiful hotel, though, meticulously maintained. Good restaurant, friendly staff, nice room. View was dismal. No nice walking nearby.
The staff at the Grano de Oro are outstanding. The food is amazing and we loved our stay there!
Hotel was beautiful and the restaurant served the best food we had the entire trip.
beautiful place, no issues with location
Second time we stayed there and it was great!
This is my second time at the Hotel Grano de Oro. Hotel, ambiance, food and gift shop are all terrific. And staff!
Beautiful hotel. I wished we were there longer than just overnight.
Our room had a private courtyard with a fountain. We enjoyed a bottle of wine with our friends and had a great time. This hotel is very unusual, but in a very good way. Would definitely stay there again.
They upgraded us to a Suite. The staff was extremely friendly and overall they made us feel very welcome.
room was a little small. We had to be moved to another room after getting settled because the shower did not work
Most memorable, friendly professional staff of all the places we stayed (though the others were good too, this was the best).
Restaurant was excellent and staff was very friendly and helpful. The only drawback was the double beds were too small and made sleeping uncomfortable compared to queen/king beds.
This is a beautiful, historic hotel, with an impeccable staff. The gift shop offered some of the finest gifts and artifacts that we had seen in CR, and they were reasonably priced. The neighborhood did not lend itself to walking at dusk.
The food at the hotel was very good!
Very nice hotel - only wish we could have stayed longer! The restaurant was very good as well.
Nice way to end the vacation. We felt very spoiled.
Wonderful staff and loved the restaurant. Perfect ending to great trip.
Again, we had a great experience at this hotel. We had dinner there that night and it was a very nice experience. The wait staff were very attentive and we enjoyed our dinner.
This hotel was spotless and our room very comfortable. Once again the staff were very friendly and helpful. Dinner was fabulous.
Beautiful place, but the restaurant prices were out of this world expensive ! The staff at the door were able to guide us to some local food places that were great.
Neat hotel. Not much around.
This hotel is amazing! You are welcomed by the staff with wonderfully warm smiles and they all very readily answer any questions you may have. From the doorman/security, concierge, dining staff -- this experience was A+ fantastic!
Great to be back at the Grano de Oro again. Loved the rooftop hot tubs and the dining room.
Great place to stay
The hotel is very lovely in a very unimpressive part of town. (I don't know San Jose at all!) It was beautiful, clean, we liked our family suite & it was very comfortable for 1 night. It would have been nice to have a few choices for restaurants, because it was a bit formal for our children (21,18 & 15).
This one was a bit of a surprise. We were not expecting what we got.... one of the neatest places we have staid and we have traveled a bit through the world. Room was smallish ( we had their basic room) but very comfortable! The food..... outstanding! We were not eating breakfast there in the plan but we did just to see what they had to offer! STAY HERE if you can!
Wish we could have stayed a little longer.
Loved it! Enjoyed the upgrade so much! Would have loved to have been able to stay on.
We requested a room change as the first room did not reflect the website description of a deluxe room with an adjoining courtyard. The hotel restaurant is excellent with a commendable wine list and most impressive interior. The food was of a high standard and the dining experience is memorable.
Waiters in the restaurant were rude. The hotel room was tiny and lacked amenities.
