Great location. Nice beach. Good food. My only real complaint is that we were on the third floor of building 10 and the street noise was extremely loud all night long. We did not sleep well for the four nights that we stayed there.
This hotel was very nice and we loved our ocean views. The location couldn't be beat because we could easily walk to shops and restaurants. The breakfast buffet and beachside restaurant had really good food. The beach and ocean were perfect. We always found lounge chairs at the beach and I like that we could be on the grassy lawn and find some shade underneath the trees. The only thing I would change is the room cleaning schedule is in the morning when we were coming back from breakfast and getting ready for our day. I wish it would have been over lunchtime when were sure to be gone everyday.
Beds were a little hard.
Staff is not very friendly. Particularly at the tour desk.
This place is amazing. We tried to do 2 nights here but would have had to pay for the 3rd night at Wyndham due to the change request with only a days notice. It is nice being right in the middle of everything. The beach. The restaurants. The property is really nice and the gym was better than the other hotels we stayed at. The pool, restaurant and ocean views were simply breathtaking. Loved this place.
Had beachfront room. Band next door was loud until 2a.m. on first night then midnite on 2nd nite. Room was a little small but ok. Pool and beach were very nice.
resort and all staff was wonderful
Rooms somewhat in need of renovation and repairs. Location was great. Beach and great surfing right in front of hotel. Walking distance to everything.
Best hotel on the beach.
Kevin was our personal maître d'!!! He took excellent care of us at all times at the bar, restaurant, etc. He has a particularly excellent talent for customer service!!! The beach front room was superb! The tour desk was good!
This resort was great! The only thing I wish was different were the amount of beach vendors trying to sell things that would not leave us alone. However, I know this was a public beach, so the resort was not able to do anything about this.
Loud cars driving by early morning and late at night. The hotel is set beautifully next to the beach but should have better insulation so you’re not woken up by cars driving by. Food is good.
We loved this hotel. We had 3rd floor ocean view rooms that were fantastic. The rooms were small, but updated, clean and pretty. We loved the location of this hotel - on the beach and walking distance to so many things.
We were definitely spoiled coming here from Arenal Springs. The hotel was beautiful, but we didn't spend much time in the pool areas as they were located across the street. The one day we did go to a pool, the adults only pool bar was not even open. The staff here was also not very friendly. There were a few that were very nice and helpful, Jaquine in the restaurant and Randall that helped us with bags in particular.
The room was fine, but we were essentially in a basement, as our room backed up to a dirt wall. There were also people that would cut between the back door of our room and the dirt wall. This was very surprising. Especially when you didn't know that was going to happen. It was also loud. We expected that to an extent, but I was expecting more of traffic noise. It was as if the doors were open to the hall at all hours. The street noise was not bad at all compared to the noise coming from the hallway.
Tamarindo is such a cute town, and the hotel was nice, but I think the staff could have been friendlier and we should have not chosen the room that we did.
Loved the location! In town and beautiful views! However, the hotel was not quite as nice as the first. Hotel rooms were close to the street so it was a bit loud at night.
Very beautiful location. Pools were very nice and clean. Cleaning staff was very friendly. Card keys didn't always work to the rooms. Beds were a little firm. But overall a very nice place. And convenient to the beach and many restaurants and activities.
Amazing resort and staff! The food was great, accommodations were top notch.
Beautiful, beautiful, beautiful resort!!! We had a view of the beach (amazing!!!!) and the amenities, restaurants, room, etc., were all fantastic!!!!
Very nice place, but didn't like it that people were in your face trying to sell you something the minute you tried to cross the street to get to the main hotel space. Same for the beach area. Very "Miami" touristy like feel to this area - not really Costa Rican.
Lovely lagoon side room was quiet and pool side.
We started our experience by being told we could not stay in the adult only section of the resort because it was under construction. After Pacific trade winds worked with the hotel we were able to move to the oceanside rooms. Once there the room was loud and there were multiple things broken or not working in the room. The next day we found a cockroach in the room. They would not refund our money and simply moved us to another room. The staff seemed annoyed with us on multiple occasions. The resort also does a terrible job of showing the property as it truly is, including not mentioning the loud and busy road the divides the property. The only benefit to this location was that it was right on the beach.
ggreat location!!! Loved our 3.5 days stay here..
Beautiful hotel. Staff was attentive and professional.
Thought we'd have a view of the ocean but the room across the street gave us wonderful access to the pool which was actually better. The registration staff was harried but the porters were super nice and helpful. The breakfast staff was not outstanding and I'm not crazy about sharing my food with birds at the buffet tables. It was rather hot in the room -- more fans would have helped. Arenal takes the prize for best meal selection and service.
Beautiful hotel. Really nice staff. Enjoyed our stay. We were lied to by a staff member, but everything worked out okay anyway. I don’t think that they knew we spoke Spanish.
Excelente hotel!! Esperamos tener la oportunidad de volver!!
Amazing place to stay! Absolutely beautiful. Check in and out was easy and location was convenient to everything we needed. Breakfast was one of my favorite things here! The animals were fun to see and the pools weren’t crowded. Bar service was nice as well.
Beautiful pool, but not cleaned regularly enough. Excellent location.
We loved being right on the beach. These are not 10s because we had been spoiled at the smaller hotels.
This was an amazing property. I felt safe with the security measures in place. The only thing I didn't like about the room is that the pillows were a little hard. The staff was friendly, but not like Arenal.
It was a lovely hotel- just a bit of a busy location. We had great ocean view rooms, beds were great, linens service etc all very good. Food was fine but not like Arenal. Gym was tiny, equipment was tired and no water or towels.
This hotel was great! Very secure, clean and convenient to everything in downtown Tamarindo. The pools were beautiful, the staff was great, and we loved the breakfast. The only thing we didn't love was that there was a marathon occurring at the hotel while we were there and did not know about it. It was VERY loud. at 2am. There was no chance of sleeping. Fireworks were going off too. The rest of our stay was great, though
Really good breakfast!
This was a beautiful hotel, great wet bar (with soda for the girl!) and a BEAUTIFUL view for breakfast!!
Hot tub was just luke warm, needed to be much hotter. Would have been nice to have lawn chairs down by the water that belonged to the hotel that we could enjoy. Appreciated the hotel accommodating our request to have side by side rooms with our kids.
This hotel was not up to our expectations for the cost. We will not stay there again when we return to Costa Rica. The staff was unfriendly and lowered the overall experience for this stay.
This was a beautiful resort close to the beach.
Adult poolside bar was the absolute best! Luis the bartender was outstanding!
Oceanside bar was absolutely horrible. Next time we will not stay in that area but by the adult pool/bar.
Amazing hotel and location!
Very nice resort, just didn't like Tamarindo in particular. It was too busy with tourists and peddlers.
We were in the oldest part of the hotel, the rooms were small, but the views were well worth it. The hotel was gorgeous. We spent a lot of time at the Adults only pool. Special Shout out to the bartender LUIS. This man made the experience perfect. We couldn't have asked for a more attentive activity leader. This man did it all. Sang, made the best drinks, told jokes, ordered our lunches and was a great conversational asset. We love you LUIS!!!!!
location is great. beach is great.
we had a pleasant stay and the staff was excellent and enjoyed practicing English. The breakfasts were plentiful. i wish there were screens on our terrace doors so we could open them at night and hear the ocean instead of the traffic.
This is the highlight of the whole trip. It just does not get better! Scenery AMAZING! Accomodation AMAZING! Food AMAZING! The greater "Randall" was the ultimate in Customer Service and so friendly. The pool Bartender was hilarious and so much fun to hang out with. Tons of great shopping, lots to do just hanging around. I am trying to talk our young adult kids to plan their weddings here! I LOVED IT.. LOVED IT!
Good hotel, middle of town, liked that I could order and have my room billed when running around in swim trunks. Room wasn't what we ordered, so we had to make due with two twins, instead of the large single bed we had reserved. That's my only real complaint. Breakfast was pretty good and the food at the varying parts of the hotel (the beachside restaurant and pizza parlor) was pretty good.
We enjoyed exploring the town on foot and the easy beach access. Our room had a wonderful view of the ocean. The room itself was spacious but was a basic hotel room. There were some visible repairs to wall plaster / paint in several places. We enjoyed the balcony. The room key was problematic. This was especially frustrating when we had walked up three flight to our floor. We had to have the keys replaces several times. We enjoyed meals in the restaurants associated with the hotel. Our favourite was the Garden of Eden. We also enjoyed some wonderful meals in other independent restaurants in town. The woman at Guest Services was very helpful We enjoyed the pools and walking the beach.
Air conditioning unit loud. Noise at restaurants next door.
Beautiful, great location!
Loved this place. It was exactly what we wanted. Pricey but fabulous. Love the Iguanas roaming about.
I did not like this place. The morning after we checked in I wanted to go home. Nobody was nice.
Perfect location in the heart of the action. We didn't have towels in our room until day 2, but that wasn't a big problem. Just used our beach towels.
It took 4 hours for us to receive a room key and we were just sitting in the reception the whole time. I know they were busy but I wish they've would have tried to locate another room. Otherwise everything was good!
This place is un real. So amazing. The lagoon pools are top notch and the beaches and great. The hotel has 6 restaurants connected that are amazing.. This resort is beautiful.. Hands down the sickest spot on the trip.. Worth every penny.. 10/10
Best hotel! Best view! Best beach in the world! Great staff! Food was wonderful!
Coming from Florida on the gulf of Mexico..it was a typical beach town. But then, we're spoiled.
Excellent place but you have to stay on the beach side with a view of the beach and sunset. We changed 3 times as it seemed they kept trying to put us in their cheapest, least desirable rooms. You may want to talk to them about giving guest you send them better rooms.
The room was very nice despite the shower either burning you or not having hot water at all. We enjoyed the adults only pool and the location was convenient. The staff wasn't as friendly as other locations but that may be because of the touristy feel of the area. The beach at the hotel was very nice but a little rocky so we had to be careful
The extra bed was not super comfortable for the kids. A room with bunk beds would have been nice
Beautiful hotel in an amazing location. Met every expectation.
Rooms and bathroom are very small especially for a family of 4.
Beach had more rocks, and many vendors bothering us. The breakfast buffet was ok not so great. Drinks during happy hours was wonderful because of great prices.
Having experienced a room facing the ocean before, I would have requested a similar room.
The resort was beautiful and kept immaculately clean. We both came down with traveler's tummy about halfway through our stay in Taramindo so we didn't really get to experience the hotel to the fullest extent.
Of all the hotels we stayed at the staff at this hotel was probably the least friendly, mainly because this hotel is extremely crowded with very long lines to check in. The food was terrible and not of the quality of the other hotels.
Very nice hotel and loved the location!
We really liked the Diria and Tamarrindo, will go there again. Staff was very friendly and helped us all they could including retrieving my jacket I left on the shuttle bus.
problems with keys; late access to the room; maid service inconsistent; problem with bill when leaving (wrong charges)
up grade to beachside worthwhile
This was right on the beach and their restaurant was as well but this was a very hotel and that left the staff distracted. The pool which looks rather large in the photos online was actually quite small and right next to the front desk. This felt a bit awkward so we did not use the pool at this hotel.
Hotel was fine and close to restaurants and boutiques. Chamber maids took an eternity to do up my room even though I was gone early in the morning. Would not go to Taramrindo again as it was too commercial , much like many American resorts and more expensive.
This was a beautiful resort! The staff was great, breakfast provided was excellent with lots of variety. Our rooms had a beautiful view of the ocean. I would highly recommend this resort.
This is a very nice hotel located right on the beach. Busier and at times noisier than the other two hotels.
The water aerobic class was canceled without notice.
Very nice resort! Central location close to lots of fun things! The service was amazing, as soon as we switched activities they had already printed out our vouchers and slipped them under our door! Amazing!
With college age boys, we liked that we were in the town. We walked to various restaurants and enjoyed seeing Tamarindo. When we checked in, Tamarindo Diria Resort only showed we reserved one room. Pacific Trade Winds quickly solved the issue.
We loved this resort. Very clean and close to the beach. We loved that there was free wi fi throughout the resort.
It wasn't sparkling clean but it was nice. I didn't know our rooms would be on the other side of the street from the main part of the hotel, but it was fine. I didn't like the birds bothering people at breakfast & the staff wasn't quite as friendly and attentive as the other places. It's a cute little town & the people are nice, but a little pushier than in the other places we had been.
Staff basically ignored us. Room wasn't cleaned one day. The young women at the tour desk were rude and unhelpful. The dining area staff acted like they were too busy to help us. (We asked for water and were ignored and had to help ourselves to necessary tableware --napkins, sugar, salt -- from other tables or service areas.) Because of the poor breakfast service, we chose not to eat at any of their restaurants.
Next time I won't choose a king size bed instead of 2 queens. The bathroom was too tiny for two people.
Great location, right on the beach and right in town. They moved us to an ocean front room because of low census and it was fabulous.
To much outdoor walking in the heat and bugs for meals. Wonderful beach. In hotel food fair.
The only complaint is cleaning staff kept taking used towels without leaving behind clean ones.
Cant say enough. Room was beautiful. Location great. Pool and beach areas beautiful. Terrific breakfast and restaurants. Pleasant staff-especially at concierge desk. Most beautiful sunsets ever. I would like to highly recommend two restaurants we ate at outside of the hotel in Tamarindo. Seasons by Shlomy at Arco Iris Hotel and Patagonia Argentinian Steakhouse. Both had wonderful food and great atmosphere.
We loved the location of the hotel and our balcony facing the ocean!! But the guestrooms definitely need help. The room wasn't clean. The floor was so dirty and dusty, all the furniture was dusty, the bathroom was uncomfortably tiny and the walls had stains on them. There is no shelf to put any toiletries in the bathroom or shower. The stall shower is so small that you can't even move to wash properly (and impossible for a lady to shave her legs!!!!). There are also no drawers for clothes. They really need to do something about the bathrooms especially. At the very least, put a wall mounted shelf somewhere in there. Regarding the staff, most of them were wonderful! There were a few bartenders that were not at all friendly. But other than those, the staff was nice.
The check in staff really put a wrinkle on my thoughts of the hotel, they were not willing to help out until I reached out to you guys for the king bed.
The only reason I rate this a bit lower is that it is a huge place, very busy and lack the personal touch with guests because of its success. But if we asked for something, they always came through. Loved the location and the family pool is fantastic!
I enjoyed Tamarindo. The beaches were beautiful. We had lots of trouble with our room keys. Had to keep getting them reprogrammed. The wait staff in the dining area was very poor. You would ask for coffee, milk anything that we needed and they would never come back. I was not impressed with them at all. The cleaning staff was exceptional. The girl cleaning our floor was so helpful with us and the key issues. She was our savior many times.
Wonderful location and easy to walk the town. Loved the beach and pool
