Tamarindo Diria Resort

Tamarindo

Good to Know

Tamarindo Diria Resort brings together Playa Tamarindo beach access, multiple pools and dining in a lively town setting. Rooms are on the oceanfront or across the street, with family and adults-only choices that create different stays. Compare section and room category before booking; balconies, terraces and private water features vary. Choose Diria for a vacation that can move easily between resort hours, surfing and coastal outings.

Tamarindo’s beach life, with a resort to return to

Golden sand and the energy of town come together at Tamarindo Diria Resort. The property fronts Playa Tamarindo, putting a beach outing, a swim and a meal within the rhythm of a resort stay. Surfing gives the shoreline its lively character, while pools and places to relax invite you to enjoy an afternoon without planning another excursion.

Choose the section that suits your stay

Location within the resort matters. Accommodation is available on the oceanfront and across the street in family or couples sections. An ocean-oriented room, a family pool setting and an adults-only Tropicana room create different experiences, so consider both the outlook and the section when booking.

Rooms and suites bring tropical colors and modern comforts into the stay, with balconies or terraces in some categories. The sunset ocean-view option emphasizes the coast; family pool-view rooms keep the pool setting close. Selected Tropicana categories add a Jacuzzi or plunge pool. Use the room details to choose the experience you want rather than expecting the same outdoor space or features throughout the property.

Between the pools and Playa Tamarindo

Multiple swimming pools let you vary the day, including an oceanfront pool with Pacific views. Take time for a swim, settle beside the water or head onto the beach. Direct access to Playa Tamarindo makes the shoreline a natural part of the stay, with beach chairs and umbrellas adding convenience to time by the sand.

Surf lessons offer a way to join the activity on this well-known surfing beach, while a walk or a leisurely pause lets you enjoy it at your own pace. Back at the resort, dining spans casual beachside meals and more formal settings, with seafood, Costa Rican dishes and international flavors. Fresh, locally sourced ingredients connect the meals with the region, while bars and lounges invite you to extend the evening with a tropical cocktail or an artisanal spirit.

Leave room for town and coast

Tamarindo’s setting makes it easy to combine hotel time with a livelier vacation. Wildlife tours, jungle zip-lining and national-park outings can add adventure beyond the resort. Massages and facials at the spa provide a quieter counterpoint when you return. Diria’s appeal is the combination: a beach-town stay with enough variety on site to enjoy a day close to your accommodation, provided you choose the right section for your trip.

Choosing Tamarindo Diria Resort

  • Beach and town together: direct Playa Tamarindo access places surfing, sand and coastal scenery within a resort stay in a lively beach town.
  • Choose the right section: accommodation is on the oceanfront or across the street in family or couples sections. A beachfront resort address does not mean every room is on the beach side.
  • Family and adults-only choices: family pool-view rooms and adults-only Tropicana options create different atmospheres. Select the section that suits your party and preferred pace.
  • Pool variety: multiple pools include an oceanfront pool with Pacific views, giving you a place to swim even on a day spent close to the resort.
  • Comfort for beach hours: beach chairs and umbrellas make shore time convenient, while surf lessons offer a way to join Tamarindo’s surfing activity.
  • Dining and evenings on site: casual beachside meals, more formal dining, bars and lounges bring seafood, Costa Rican dishes and international flavors into the stay.
  • Room features vary: balconies, terraces, Jacuzzi and plunge-pool features depend on category. Choose deliberately if private outdoor space or a water feature is important.
  • A change of pace beyond the pool: spa treatments, wildlife tours, zip-lining and national-park outings provide relaxing and adventurous possibilities without requiring the same kind of day throughout the trip.

The main parts of the hotel (lobby/pools/bar/restaurant) were beautiful. We had an ocean view room. The first one we had was somewhat run down and had a bad smell to it. It was right at the end near a bar that blasted music in the evenings, so we were unable to sit out on our balcony (it was so loud we coudln't hear one another). There was also a great deal of construction going on in the building. We asked to change rooms away from the bar. The second room we had was much nicer. It was a little bigger/in better condition and we were able to enjoy our evenings on the balcony. The one woman working at the front desk, Maylen, was very nice and helpful. I don't feel like all the front staff workers were as helpful. We enjoyed the pools, the beach, the bar. We liked being near the town. We do think this was a great hotel for the location and amenities.

Good location, enjoyed the multiple pools and restaurants.

The hotel is nice, but our room had a slight moldy smell during our whole stay. Staff was very friendly and pool and beach area were maintained cleaned. Security was visual at all areas of the hotel. Breakfast was fresh and delicious.

We loved our ocean front, open air feeling, just steps from the beach, bar and dinner. We shopped, explored and shopped. We visited the other property and loved the option! Plus the convenience of COVID Test right at resort was so wonderful, quick and no stress.

Nancy B.

The hotel was nice, food was good. We had a pool view which turned out meant the room was across the street from the ocean. I was on crutches so that was a nuisance. The staff was super helpful.

Isis B.

The room was very small and the beds were not very comfortable. It advertised a four-star hotel but I did not think our room was four star. We had a wonderful time it was in an excellent location in the lobby and the restaurant were beautiful and the food was excellent. Also the jacuzzi pool was cold!

Jan C.

I think this is the best place to stay because of access to the beach

Heidi E.

Again the bedding was not great. Very skimpy. Breakfast was outstanding. The area around the pool in back had lots of dirty dishes around & it attracted lots of ants. Gross!

This hotel was amazing

Brittani E.

Loved this place the beds were very hard but overall everything else was perfect.

Weston S.

Right on the beach, ocean views and everything is right there. Multiple associated/easily walkable restaurants all amazing. Would 100% go back to same resort again and again.

Tammy F.

Loved the hotel but the beds were too hard to get a good nights sleep.

Brittany M.

Beautiful resort and exactly where you want to be In town. For NYE they provided and incredible dinner and champagne toast.

Colleen S.

Beautiful hotel with sprawling grounds, 3 pools, great swim up bars, family friendly areas. We stayed on the ocean side but I am glad we walked across the street to check out the rest of the hotel grounds and pools!

Lorrie R.

Parking lot view from front of our room not so special but balcony view was lovely

John M.

Very large resort with all the issues that come with it. All in all, we had a great stay, beaches and pools were great. Very relaxing, and within walking distance to everything.

Guest review

Sarah P.

The hotel was beautiful and the staff were friendly. Also a fantastic location - right on the beach. I think we had the nicest room in the resort!

All good

Gorgeous spot on the beach. The perfect way to end our vacation. Lovely town for walking around and experiencing various restaurants. We also rented a surf board & boogey board for the kids & they did that every day.

Ashna C.

very beautiful hotel and very nicely located on the beach; front desk staff very helpful and nice; next time i would request to be on beach side and to be closer to lobby; so if across the street then i would requeest room 610 or closer ; the staff were great and moved me from room 630 to 610 and that was terrific; we loved this resort and location as well; i feel for new years they should have offered the midnite champagene to all the guests; they were a bit cheap and asking for some ticket for this; also i feel the hotel should have a hot tub near the beach pool; the restaurant by the beach has very poor service and noone going around to the pool and offering to buy drinks; also they have a very strange towel system; that i found cumbersome; i really dont think this towel system is necessary for such a high quality hotel and also half the tiem noone is even at the towel centre

Beautiful resort and extremely helpful staff. My son was sick during our trip and the hotel staff did everything possible to help us arrange a doctor's visit to make sure he was okay. Our toilet seat was broken in one of the rooms and they replaced it within the hour! (during this busy season)

Constantine M.

Lovely hotel and terrific location. They were doing refurbishment works at reception which you informed as in advance. The breakfast was rather poor. The original room we were given wasn't really pool view. We asked to be moved and the hotel was very kind in accommodating us.

Rebecca S.

Some of the staff were really friendly and other not at all. No hot water. Cold hot tub in pool area. Bar/restaurant closed for a private event one entire night - and they were very loud. Grounds were very nice and location was great. Had 2 ocean front rooms which was great especially since the other side (family side) was dead while we were there. Would have been very boring. Drinks are over priced. Breakfast was great.

Alisa M.

A little pricey but worth it. Also, a very crowded hotel, people everywhere.
