Located on the Pacific coast of Guanacaste province, this is one of the most popular destinations for both advanced and beginner divers.

Today you will go on a two tank scuba dive off the Pacific coast to the Catalina Islands. Your tour will begin when you are picked up at your hotel and driven to the main office. You will meet the boat captain and the dive master who will provide all diving equipment unless you prefer to use your own. You will receive wet suits, two oxygen tanks, masks, flippers and other diving accessories needed for your plunge towards the ocean floor.

The boats are 37 to 40 feet long and have a covered roof for sun protection. They are fully equipped with fresh drinking water, radio, oxygen, and emergency equipment. All dive masters and boat captains are fully certified professionals with years of ocean experience.

As you hop on board, your dive masters will go over the plan created daily based upon the recent weather conditions and visibility. You will visit various sites ranging between 40 feet and 100 feet in depth located around the islands to maximize your opportunity to see an abundance of underwater life.

The Catalinas Islands are located 20 miles offshore and have several select diving spots, each one with different features hosting a myriad of marine life. In fact, many experienced divers who want to go Guanacaste scuba diving specifically come to this site, known for its abundance of interesting sea creatures. Here you might see giant manta rays, devil rays, spotted bull’s eye, mobleys, sharks and sometimes seasonal whales.

There are two tours per day, one in the morning and one in the afternoon. For an additional cost you may choose to purchase photos or videos of your underwater odyssey.

I was so impressed with the aquacenter! The staff were all lovely. We had a fantastic time diving and got to see White tip reef shark, manta, eels and lots of fish. The dive equipment was well maintained. The boat ride was good too!

Great equipment!

water was not very clear and we did not see a lot of fish or other animals; however, I know that the tour company has no control over this and their service was spectacular!

Loved the dives! The staff and divemaster were excellent. I would highly recommend this company to anyone wanting to dive in Costa Rica!

Visibility was not the greatest. The rays were just shadows swimming by. Lots of fish to look at but no corals.

Everybody there was top rate. Our dive master was patient and extremely safe. I'm certified but not very experienced and haven't dove in almost a year so he took his time and was very attentive. We saw reef sharks and eagle rays...wow! On the way back to Tamarindo I confessed that I had forgotten to pack underwear so he made a stop at a local store so that I could purchase some....that's service above and beyond.

Husband was happy!

First off, the boat was amazing, as was the crew and dive master, Risky. I was expecting something different, I suppose, when I was thinking about diving in Costa Rica. The visibility of our dive sites was not very good. I was glad to be an experienced diver, because you had to stick really close together as to be able to see. That being said, I saw more pufferfish in one place that I ever have before. I also saw 3 eels, starfish, countless sea urchins, and many angel fish. For the visibility to be so poor, it was a pretty successful 2 dives!

The dive company was a little under prepared but recovered quickly and made the best out of a bad situation. The dive itself was pretty good.
