We’ll greet you when you arrive at the San Jose Airport then afterward you’ll be on your way by private transfer through San Jose and into the scenic countryside. As you reach Turrialba, you’ll see rustic working farms as well as the massive Turrialba Volcano, one of Costa Rica’s most active volcanoes erupting frequently over the last few years. You’ll be staying at the beautiful boutique Hotel Villa Florencia for the next few nights. The hotel is a safe distance from the volcano and a perfect place to relax and enjoy the pool plus soak in the Jacuzzi after your exciting adventure activities. Over the next couple of days, you’ll go whitewater rafting down one of the best-known rafting rivers in the world, the Rio Pacuare. You’ll also go on a thrilling canyoning adventure rappelling over four waterfalls and ending with a canopy zipline course!
After spending a few days in Turrialba, we’ll provide a transfer through the scenic mountainous countryside over to the southern Pacific coastal surf town of Dominical. The sandy streets of this fun little surfing village are lined with surf shops, restaurants, and souvenir stands. The beach is the main attraction, drawing surfers from all over the world seeking big wave action during certain times of the year. But don’t worry, there are nearby neighboring beaches calmer for swimming. Behind the village, the jungle-covered Talamanca Mountains rise high into the clouds. You’ll stay at Hotel Villas Rio Mar set between the town and the mountains surrounded by jungle. No activities are planned over the next couple of days, so we’d encourage you to take in all that Dominical has to offer. Enjoy the beaches, explore the gorgeous southern Pacific coast, find a waterfall and swim beneath it. Maybe you’d like to visit the Marino Ballena National Park at low tide to see the whale tail sandbar. Of course, we offer plenty of nature and adventure tours in this area if you’d like to add an activity to your customizable itinerary.

Day 1: Welcome to Costa Rica and on to Turrialba
We’ll be waiting to greet you as you arrive at San Jose International Airport (SJO) and then we will provide you with a private transfer to Turrialba. You’ll stay at the Hotel Villa Florencia.

Day 2: Whitewater Rafting Rio Pacuare (B, L)
You’ll go on an exciting guided whitewater rafting trip over Class lll and lV rapids down the scenic Pacuare River. Lunch will be provided.

Today’s adventure includes an awesome combination of canyoning, waterfall rappelling, and ziplining all deep in the jungle! Be sure to enjoy the Jacuzzi back at your hotel after your day of adventures.

Day 4: Transfer to Dominical (B)
We’ll provide a transfer through the countryside and mountains over to Dominical on the South Pacific coast. Here you’ll be staying at Hotel Villas Rio Mar.

There are no activities planned on these two days to give you a chance to just relax on your vacation. We encourage you to explore the beautiful South Pacific region on your own. Of course, you can also simply enjoy the beach or hotel’s swimming pool lounge area, tennis courts, outdoor gym, and nature paths all surrounded by beautiful scenery. We offer many adventure and nature tours in the area if you’d like to add a tour.

Outside the town of Turrialba, visitors will find rural back roads, farmland surrounded by living post fences, and the Turrialba Volcano. In this bucolic off the beaten path area, one can experience the sense of a simpler time, this is authentic Costa Rica and a wonderful place to meet the locals.
