A week of Quepos fishing and Manuel Antonio beach time
There is something special about heading out from Quepos with a full fishing day ahead. On Days 3 and 5, your 28-foot offshore boat takes you into the Pacific with a captain and mate, bait and tackle ready for the day’s adventure. Marlin, sailfish, yellowfin tuna and dorado are among the species you’ll target. Between those outings, Day 4 brings a different kind of excitement: four hours fishing closer to shore for roosterfish, snapper, blackfin tuna, wahoo and dorado. Two full offshore days and one half-day inshore give this week its unmistakable fishing focus.
Back ashore, Shana By The Beach is your home for six nights in Manuel Antonio’s tropical hillside setting. Enjoy lush gardens, time beside the pool and a restaurant where you can settle in after a day at sea. Shana’s nature trail leads downhill through the greenery toward Playa Biesanz, bringing another side of the Pacific coast within reach of your stay.
Days 2 and 6 are yours to enjoy at an easier pace. Feel the warmth of the tropical sun, spend time on Manuel Antonio’s palm-lined beaches or simply relax between fishing outings. Having one coastal base throughout the week means you can settle in, enjoy your surroundings and look forward to the next day on the water. Your trip begins with a VIP greeting at San José International Airport and ends with return transportation scheduled to reach the airport three hours before your departure flight.
From San José to your coastal fishing base
Your week begins and ends at San José International Airport, with a VIP greeting on arrival and return transportation scheduled to reach the airport three hours before your departing flight. The rental-car configuration covers your journey to Manuel Antonio and back. Transportation is also included with each of your three fishing charters.
Is Quepos Sportfishing the right fishing getaway for you?
- For anglers who want variety on the water, the sample plan pairs two eight-hour offshore outings targeting marlin, sailfish and yellowfin tuna with a four-hour inshore outing targeting roosterfish, snapper and more. Each starting charter uses a 28-foot boat for up to four anglers; catches depend on conditions.
- For travelers who enjoy settling into one coastal base, Manuel Antonio combines fishing from nearby Quepos with beach time between outings. The sample week leaves Days 2 and 6 free, so the trip has room to unwind as well as fish.
- Prefer a different stay? Compare the starting Shana By The Beach hillside setting with Arenas del Mar’s beach-and-nature resort or La Vela Boutique Hotel’s level setting near Espadilla Beach and Manuel Antonio National Park. Your planner confirms rooms, meals and the price of your selected stay.
- Want a different mix of fishing and nature? Existing options include a guided Manuel Antonio National Park hike, active Damas mangrove kayaking or a covered mangrove riverboat safari. These are optional alternatives to a selected fishing outing, not extra activities included in the sample plan; discuss the balance with your planner.
