Los Lagos Hotel Resort and Spa in Arenal offers a vibrant, family-friendly escape amidst a tropical landscape. This midrange resort features natural hot springs, a large swimming pool with an exciting waterslide, and dining with captivating jungle and volcano views. Guests can balance on-site relaxation with exploring the Arenal Volcano region's diverse activities, making it an ideal choice for a memorable Costa Rican vacation.
Arenal Volcano, tropical grounds and a pool with a big waterslide give Los Lagos Hotel Resort and Spa a lively sense of vacation. In La Fortuna, this midrange resort lets you balance exploring with days that need no ambitious schedule: spend time in the hot springs, take a swim and leave an afternoon for the grounds or spa.
Las Palmas Restaurant serves Costa Rican and international dishes for breakfast, lunch and dinner with jungle views. Birds often visit the area in front of the restaurant, giving you another reason to pause over a meal. Dress is casual, though swimwear and wet clothing are not permitted. Change after the pool before coming to dine.
Lemnos Wet Bar brings drinks to the poolside setting, with a swim-up bar and views of Arenal. Its menu includes more than 50 tropical drinks and cocktails, along with natural drinks, sodas, beer and wine. Between the pool, waterslide and hot springs, there is plenty to make a day at the resort feel like part of the trip rather than a gap between excursions.
Most Standard Rooms are near the pool and central facilities. Superior Rooms, Premium Rooms and Villas sit on a hill above the common areas, so getting to the pool, hot springs, restaurant and lobby involves a short hike. A complimentary shuttle is available for guests without a rental car. Think about that difference when choosing between proximity to the facilities and the room styles higher on the property.
Air conditioning, cable television and a mini-fridge provide familiar comforts across the rooms and villas. The Villa category adds a kitchen and living room for meals and downtime together. Beyond the hotel, the Arenal Volcano National Park region has ATV trips, waterfalls, canopy ziplines and other ways to explore. Browse Arenal Activities and Tours page to choose outings that suit your party, then keep an afternoon free for Los Lagos’ own water-filled pleasures.

Hotel was beautiful, just the room was far from the restaurant.

Dining that first evening was less than "10" due to the waiter who was either distracted or overwhelmed. We chose on other evenings to eat at the poolside bar. And also that same first evening, I called reception about noise from the guest room above us (continual pacing back and forth), The staff resolved that quickly. All other services, staff, and amenities at the hotel exceeded expectations.

We loved the hotel and the mineral pools. We had one issue in the restaurant but it was resolved with the manager the following day. It may have just been an off day for the server. Once we ordered, we had to find him after about 20 minutes to get our drinks and then again to get a few other items. We chose to eat at the pizza place for the remainder of the time and that went very well.

The breakfasts were wonderful. Enjoyed the hot springs. Taking Uber into town was inexpensive and convenient.

I was glad we were in a unit very close to the pools and the dining room as I couldn't have managed the hill to the more distant unit. I loved the various hot pools and the fact that there was an extensive gluten-free menu at dinner. The room heater (110) wasn't working well so we were quite cold one night but used the blankets provided

Beautiful location but a bit noisy, transfer buses going by rooms at all hours.

Gorgeous resort. Amazing breakfast. Awesome pools and hot springs. Bed and pillow were a bit uncomfortable.

fantastic property! the thermal pools, the views, the food, all was amazing

Lots of shuttle buses to get around the facilities.

The room and grounds are beautiful. We didn’t love the breakfast, and the thermal pools were too crowded. In retrospect this might be a better hotel for families with children. I think I prefer boutique hotels more.

This hotel was more expensive than what we usually opt for, but it was very nice. We liked having the trails, gardens, hot springs, pools, etc on site. It was easy to uber into town. Staff were great. Bed was comfy.

We loved this resort, especially the hot springs. The room was spacious and had an awesome view of the volcano. Staff was helpful. I appreciated having a steamer in the room. Restaurant was great and reasonably priced.

Amazing property, many hot springs, they have even their own little farm. The buffet style breakfast was abundant with myltiple choices.

The pools and grounds were the most amazing I have ever seen. The shuttle to and from the rooms was quick, but felt like we always had to bother someone to call for the shuttle. Wish it had a set route that would pass the bus stops every 15-30 mins and you only called if you need ed door service for luggage or physical restrictions. The room was huge! The down fall was the room had 1 chair inside and no table for a card game, eating, or mapping out trails. The porch had 2 seats out front and 2seats in the back. The room is for 4, but you could not sit down together.
Great hotel. Rooms were comfortable, a lot of breakfast options. Enjoyed the paths to lookout, hot springs and pools. Food at restaurants was very good.

Great hot springs, good breakfast buffet and dinner offerings. Didn't like that we were so far from the main resort and had to call a van whenever we wanted to go anywhere. wished there were convenient transport into to town to eat at restaurants.
Our 8-year old family members loved the water slides, and finally convinced 78-year old grandma to try it.The various sizes and temperatures of pools kept the adults entertained, and it was easy to feel private. We did not like the dinner we had at the restaurant. Everything was extremely salty, and most of us didn’t finish our meal. The breakfasts were great!
We need medical emergency help and the hotel staff was instrumental in getting us the help we needed.

Totally %100 recommend this location for the whole family. We loved it. A great BIG shot out to Valentina the restaurant host and distracted Luis Ramirez for such quick response with our medical needs for my sister. The Doctor at the local clinic was very very knowledgeable and quick to treat my sister with medical and advice.

Los Lagos certainly exceeded our expectations - the setting was gorgeous, the facilities were clean and spacious. We will definitely recommend.

We absolutely loved Los Lagos

Buffet breakfast was tasty with a large selection of items. Restaurant dinner menu was extensive and the food was delicious, well presented, and portions were large. A shout out to Mario and Michael for their great service! Also, the manager Kimberly was very accommodating in providing us with a special dish not on the menu. Loved the bar, which also serves great food. The grounds are beautiful and the large amount of pools and hot springs was amazing. The room was very spacious and comfortable. Hotel shuttle service runs very smoothly. The entire staff is dedicated to taking care of its guests in a friendly and professional manner. Would definitely stay here again!

If we could rate higher than 10, we would. Exceeded all expectations!
