Was disappointing it was a public beach with many people approaching you for services. Had issues booking reservations at the restaurants and we’re not happy that many of the restaurants did not run AC effectively.

The Westin Playa Conchal Resort and Spa offers a luxurious, all-inclusive escape on a sprawling 2,400-acre property in Central Guanacaste. Guests can enjoy a lagoon-style pool, seven restaurants, five bars, and a range of activities from non-motorized water sports to an 18-hole golf course. With diverse accommodations, including an adults-only Westin Club, this 5-star resort provides a sophisticated beach stay with choices for every traveler. Its all-inclusive plan covers select meals, drinks, and activities, ensuring a seamless vacation experience.
Playa Conchal gives a Westin Reserva Conchal vacation an inviting starting point: time along the beach, a swim in the lagoon-style pool and dinner without leaving the resort. Across the sprawling 2,400-acre Guanacaste property, restaurants, bars, family activities and golf give a day several possible shapes. Choose it for a coastal stay with room to be active or relaxed, and let the resort itself have time in the itinerary.
Seven restaurants and five bars give evenings variety, with 24-hour room service for another way to dine. Swimming pools and whirlpools, a fitness gym, activities center, weekly program and nightly shows widen the hours back at the resort. Kayaks, stand-up paddleboards and snorkeling equipment bring active coastal time into reach, while tennis and the Westin Kids Club add ways for families to enjoy staying close.
Golfers can plan around the 18-hole, par-71 Robert Trent Jones course, while the beach provides swimming and snorkeling. Spa and beauty-salon treatments offer a quieter afternoon. The all-inclusive plan has precise inclusions and exclusions, so separate the activities you wish to arrange at extra cost from the meals, drinks and recreation already included.
Liberia airport is about 45 minutes away, and Tamarindo around 20 minutes by car for shopping, restaurants, bars and nightlife. Nearby Brasilito brings a fishing-village setting and souvenir browsing into the coastal stay. Arrange a taxi or transfer if you would prefer to leave the driving to someone else, then return for dinner or a show at the resort.
Accommodation choices make a difference to how a family or group uses the hours between outings. Deluxe Junior Suites and Family Junior Suites are 538 square feet and sleep up to four. Premium Junior Suites add a separate bedroom within 861 square feet, also for up to four. The 1,162-square-foot Family Master Suite has separate living and dining rooms and a Jacuzzi for two in the master bathroom, with accommodation for up to four guests. Air conditioning, cable television, mini-fridges, safes, phones and coffee service provide the shared comforts.
The adults-only Westin Club section offers a different stay, with a lounge, select premium alcoholic drinks, a private pool with Bali beds and concierge service, complimentary internet in the lounge and rooms, and preferential reservations for golf, tennis, spa and specialty restaurants. Club Rooms are 474 square feet and sleep up to four; Club Suites are 990 square feet for up to four, with a separate dining room and living room with a sofa bed. The Club pool has scheduled maintenance from September 1 through October 31, 2026, so consider those dates if that pool is part of what draws you to the category.

The dinner reservation process was way harder than it needed to be. Couldn't even get a reservation for our last night there.
Andrew H.
It was very difficult to get a reservation, but the main dining was always available and had good food. Room service and bar staff were fantastic.

Great hotel for couples or families! We saw so much wildlife. The staff were so kind.

For an all inclusive resort, There should have been more activities. The pools were too warm

WOW!! WHAT A BEAUTIFUL PLACE!

The pools could have been cleaner. Some staff, like the ones at the bar and the concierge were really friendly and helpful. Others were less so. This was a less well oiled machine. There seemed to be a lot of confusion internally about various things. However, we were glad we opted for the westin club for the adults only section.we found that upgrade to be really worth it!

Beautiful experience - the upgrade to Westin gold club was a pleasant and fantastic surprise!

Axel, bartender at the resort was outstanding! We seen him around the resort almost everyday. Excellent customer service. 5 stars!

We had so much fun here. We loved the beach and the huge pools. The food was good. Trying to get reservations for dinner was a bit tricky as they were each only open on certain days and we had to coordinate around an evening excursion. There was a bit of a language barrier that made figuring out a question we had about trying to stay in our room for the last night hard to out, but in the end it worked out perfectly.

Staff was very nice. Good food and amenities. We would stay there again, and recommend to our friends.
Meera R.
Food was not good, but the accommodations were great.

It is a typical all inclusive resort which is not our style but it met our needs as a warm and sunny spot to relax after an adventurous vacation.
There’s nothing great about this resort. The classes aren’t well taught, the beach and ocean are cut off from the resort and don’t feel welcoming.

The resort was absolutely beautiful! We really liked being in the adults-only section, but having access to all of the resort. Everyone spoke English well, but not as well as those at Arenal resort. Javier was our concierge, and he helped us get our Covid tests scheduled. Toward our second to last day on the resort, my husband and I were walking back to our room, and one of the employees stopped to give us a ride. He recognized my husbands tattoos and asked if we lost our souvenir bag. I didn't even know I accidentally dropped it on check-in, but all the staff was alerted and kept an eye out for us. I don't remember his name, but we were so impressed and pleased with him for finding us and getting our bag back to us! Service was very good here.

This hotel is great for people who have kids or love all inclusives. We ended up driving to Tamarindo 3 days we were here to experience more activity.

Some staff very friendly some not. It seemed as if there was staff shortage and people were overworked

The staff was amazing and the food was terrific
Christine F.
The hotel grounds, the check in staff and golf cart drivers were great. The pool was a little dirty and a couple of the bartenders were not the friendliest but overall it was still a great time
Jordan B.
The hotel was great. The restaurants were awesome, it's right by the beach, and truly all-inclusive. However, they did not pay good attention to detail. They had us booked for the wrong room, and they delivered services at times we did not ask for them.
Melanie C.
The staff was great, we had some logistical and cleanliness troubles, but overall it is a beautiful spot! We loved the all-inclusiveness.
