Only criticism would be how extremely overpriced golf was. Otherwise it was awesome!!

The Westin Playa Conchal Resort and Spa offers a luxurious, all-inclusive escape on a sprawling 2,400-acre property in Central Guanacaste. Guests can enjoy a lagoon-style pool, seven restaurants, five bars, and a range of activities from non-motorized water sports to an 18-hole golf course. With diverse accommodations, including an adults-only Westin Club, this 5-star resort provides a sophisticated beach stay with choices for every traveler. Its all-inclusive plan covers select meals, drinks, and activities, ensuring a seamless vacation experience.
Playa Conchal gives a Westin Reserva Conchal vacation an inviting starting point: time along the beach, a swim in the lagoon-style pool and dinner without leaving the resort. Across the sprawling 2,400-acre Guanacaste property, restaurants, bars, family activities and golf give a day several possible shapes. Choose it for a coastal stay with room to be active or relaxed, and let the resort itself have time in the itinerary.
Seven restaurants and five bars give evenings variety, with 24-hour room service for another way to dine. Swimming pools and whirlpools, a fitness gym, activities center, weekly program and nightly shows widen the hours back at the resort. Kayaks, stand-up paddleboards and snorkeling equipment bring active coastal time into reach, while tennis and the Westin Kids Club add ways for families to enjoy staying close.
Golfers can plan around the 18-hole, par-71 Robert Trent Jones course, while the beach provides swimming and snorkeling. Spa and beauty-salon treatments offer a quieter afternoon. The all-inclusive plan has precise inclusions and exclusions, so separate the activities you wish to arrange at extra cost from the meals, drinks and recreation already included.
Liberia airport is about 45 minutes away, and Tamarindo around 20 minutes by car for shopping, restaurants, bars and nightlife. Nearby Brasilito brings a fishing-village setting and souvenir browsing into the coastal stay. Arrange a taxi or transfer if you would prefer to leave the driving to someone else, then return for dinner or a show at the resort.
Accommodation choices make a difference to how a family or group uses the hours between outings. Deluxe Junior Suites and Family Junior Suites are 538 square feet and sleep up to four. Premium Junior Suites add a separate bedroom within 861 square feet, also for up to four. The 1,162-square-foot Family Master Suite has separate living and dining rooms and a Jacuzzi for two in the master bathroom, with accommodation for up to four guests. Air conditioning, cable television, mini-fridges, safes, phones and coffee service provide the shared comforts.
The adults-only Westin Club section offers a different stay, with a lounge, select premium alcoholic drinks, a private pool with Bali beds and concierge service, complimentary internet in the lounge and rooms, and preferential reservations for golf, tennis, spa and specialty restaurants. Club Rooms are 474 square feet and sleep up to four; Club Suites are 990 square feet for up to four, with a separate dining room and living room with a sofa bed. The Club pool has scheduled maintenance from September 1 through October 31, 2026, so consider those dates if that pool is part of what draws you to the category.

This resort is fantastic! Club room experience is the only way to go!

Overall very nice. We couldn't get reservations for the 3 restaurants that required them even when attempting as soon as it went live. Other than that the entertainment was good, food was ok, and we had fun.

The adult kids loved everything here. We liked it as well it is your typical all inclusive.

The property was beautiful. The choices of delicious food was endless. The nature and animals were also memorable.

The staff was incredible! The food was really good, steaks were just so so. If you like your steak, medium ask for it rare. Sometimes it seemed the servings were small, but you could ask for more if you found a dish you loved! You could get whatever you wanted! And how much you wanted! For us, the adult all inclusive was the way to go! We enjoyed all of the specialty restaurants. Especially the Costa Rica restaurant for breakfast! Cannot say enough good things about Nancy!

This resort was fantastic! Rooms were wonderfully appointed. Before our trip I saw a lot of posts stating that W was better and that the food at the Westin was sub par. This was not our experience. We thought the resort, pool, and restaurants were great, as was the service. We got upgraded to the Adults only club level which was phenomenal. Highly recommend this resort.
We had a wonderful stay at the Westin. The upgraded room was so worth it. Our concierge Javier made sure everything was to our liking. Food was good, entertainment a little lacking. Grounds were well kept including the pool.

My mom had to have the first floor and they were able to move her from 2nd floor to the first but it did take 1.75 hours to check in. We booked in Nov and we were in three different buildings and not close together, I would have throught we would have been closer. We loved the pool, food options and the property, beautiful!!!!

Nice place for an all- inclusive, no complaints.

The overall stay was fine, housekeeping & wait staff were excellent, but the nighttime entertainment could have been more lively. It was more kid friendly than for adults (ie, Silent disco?magic show)

We were a bit disappointed with the beach area - not knowing we would not have a stretch of private beach. But the resort was beautiful and very well maintained. Lots of dining options. I did appreciate that the private citizens selling services were not at all pushy. A simple "no gracias" would send them away.

A gorgeous property and a wonderful place to spend the last days of our holiday. Our one complaint is that the resort is very spread out, which is not a problem for us as we were happy to walk around the beautiful grounds. The problem is that there are shuttles and service vehicles that pass along the footpaths at all hours of the day, so that we were constantly having to get out of the way of these vehicles, some of which seemed to be driving way too fast to be safe.

Lovely stay

We loved the all inclusive and restaurants. Laundry was jokingly expensive. $7 per article of clothing. Plus our room smelled if mildew but its on the beach so we understood. We still enjoyed it just less than the other hotel.

Food could be better at a couple of the dining areas. Most staff were great.

Ryan was so much fun to hang out with! Daniel loved playing ping pong with and we were disappointed on the days he wasn’t working!

The beach wasn’t great, because it was not really fine sand, but ok. Worst part of getting to beach is that you have to walk through people selling things and people selling massages. It’s a very big resort, so although you can walk; sometimes it’s pretty far. Again, they made our celebrations extra with things in our rooms.

Some of the restaurants were disappoointing. But overall food was pretty good.

The first thing the hotel did was upgrade us to club section ad we are Marriott members. At first we were put in double beds and they were so small that we could not sleep in the same bed (unlike Arenal Springs which also claimed double beds but were more like queen size beds) When the staff came around on day 2 asking how our stay was so far, my husband told them that the beds were too small. Later that day, the hotel upgraded us again to a king sized bed. The attentiveness of the staff, the way they took the time to ask how our stay was, and then to make the necessary changes to make their guests truly happy was beyond our expectations and made our stay a truly relaxing and memorable experience. The monkeys, coati’s and birds everywhere you look are just the cherries on top of a first rate hotel experience. My only complaint would be that the food, for the most part, was mediocre at best. Some of the restaurants had great food. Some had not so great.

Excellent location that want the VIP Club treatment with everything right there. Great spot to spend your whole vacation in Costa Rica. I would not recommend this location if people want to experience the natural life of Costa Rica. It seems like a great big cruise on land, without the ship. Too much for one night. Otherwise fabulous location

Resort was beautiful and clean. Coul

Beautiful hotel and staff were great. The food was ok but overall the experience was wonderful.
Great hotel. Food was good and it was very clean and nice. The staff were helpful and pointed out monkeys and iguanas.

Hotel and grounds were beautiful, food was good. The beach was beautiful however it was tedious walking through the local people trying to sell you massages and goods on the way to the beach. We do not golf but the course looked good! I enjoyed seeing all the monkeys on the grounds!
