There are many souvenir shops in Costa Rica. In fact, you will find shops in all tourist destinations.  These shops carry exotic wood carvings, wooden bowls, paintings, indigenous ceramics and masks, colorful beach towels and sarongs and much more.  Of course, you will likely want to bring some genuine Costa Rican coffee home with you as well.

The small town of Sarchi is the souvenir capital of Costa Rica.  This town is famous for the wood and leather rocking chairs, furniture, and hand painted oxcart wheels.

San Jose Airport has several such shops, though the prices are set at a premium.  There are currently no such shops in the Liberia Airport, but there are a few within a few minutes drive.
