Today’s fun and fascinating full day tour will take you into the mountains by bus to a local farm at the base of the Miravalles Volcano where you will begin to see geyser fields. Next you will go by horseback or horse drawn carriage up the volcano to the beginning of an easy guided hike to observe bubbling mud and steam vents, stopping to enjoy several scenic mountain waterfalls. Then you can immerse yourself in the natural woodland hot springs and mud baths breathing in the mountain air surrounded by lush tropical foliage. Afterwards you’ll be treated to a hearty Costa Rican traditional meal before boarding the bus to head back through the mountains to your hotel. Note that one way transport times from El Jobo can take up to 3 hours, other locations between 1 and 2.5 hours depending upon which area you are staying.

(1200 ft.) water slide, after these two activities, a delicious lunch will give us the energy to ride the horses to get to a beautiful natural spa surrounded by a lush forest, at this place you will have the opportunity to soothe your muscles with therapeutic volcanic mud and hot water pools. What makes this combo different than the regular one is the Extreme Canopy Tour. A new set of cables and platforms crossing over and beyond canyons and forests, involving a ¼ mile hike thru the primary forest. This canopy consists of 12 platforms and 7 cables distances from 300 feet to 1155 feet in length with approximate heights to 120 to 300 ft. You will have the opportunity to relax and take some pictures at some strategic points with spectacular views of the Papagayo Gulf, the amazing mountain hills, majestic Rincón de la Vieja Volcano and in winter time view the beautiful view waterfall “El Cañón". At the end of the canopy get ready for more adrenaline with our Tarzan Swing, which is properly fitted for our clients, once ready get ready to make a free fall, suspended at an approximate height of 150 feet. Your guide will then lead you on a trail through the family farm passing by cows and beautiful scenery. You will also pass through the forest and eventually, you’ll visit a beautiful waterfall, where you will have time to relax and enjoy the peaceful scenery. While this is not exactly a nature tour, guests often see monkeys, dart frogs, iguanas, butterflies, and beautiful birds. In total, including transportation, this tour usually lasts approximately 5 hours but this can vary based on the group size. This tour includes transportation from Manuel Antonio, fruit, two bottles of waters, one ice tea, refreshing towels, and a traditional Costa Rican lunch. The minimum age is 4 years old.

Along the way, your guide will point out the abundant tropical plant and animal life surrounding you. Crossing rivers, you’ll come to a beautiful waterfall creating pools of water for both swimming and fishing. Here you can enjoy a refreshing swim and use native fishing gear to practice catch and release fishing. Next, you’ll visit a sugarcane mill driven by huge oxen where you can participate in the process of extracting juice from cane to make sugar. Then it will be time to return to the Lodge for a hearty traditional midday meal prepared by locals. Order of events may change. At the Lodge, you will also visit a tree nursery supporting the future of the forest and providing local jobs and educational opportunities. Included in this tour are a certified guide, lunch, plus round-trip transportation from Manuel Antonio and Quepos. A four-wheel all-terrain vehicle may be used during the tour. Please wear closed toe hiking shoes and bring a pair of water shoes if you like for swimming. Transportation from the beach areas can take up to 1 hour each way.
