On this Arenal Canopy and Rafting Combo Tour you’ll be picked up from your hotel in an air conditioned comfortable van and taken to your first exciting activity, extreme ziplining through the rainforest outside of La Fortuna. Afterwards you’ll be driven to the Balsa River for Class ll and Class lll white water rafting. From there you will visit a local farm for a hearty home cooked traditional Costa Rican meal to re-energize before being driven back to your hotel. Included in this fast paced, full day tour are transportation, bilingual guides, entrance fees, safety equipment, fruit snack, drinks and meal. One way transport from your hotel in the La Fortuna area can take between 30 minutes and 1.5 hours driving time depending on the location of your hotel. Combined time of both tours, lunch and all transportation can range between 7 and 9 hours total. It is important to wear enclosed sport shoes that can get wet. Please bring bathing suit, sun protection, bug repellent, clothes that can get wet and dry clothes to change into after the tour. Cameras are fine for the ziplining tour but not recommended while on the river. Weight restrictions may apply to persons weighing over 225 pounds. Minimum age for participants is 8 years old.

You will ride horses through the trails at El Silencio private rainforest reserve to a look out point for close up views of Arenal Volcano. For your ziplining activity you be taken to the first of many platforms where you will be given instructions and guidance for safely ziplining over the forest canopy by certified bilingual guides who will assist you. Round trip transportation, entrance fee, bilingual guides, safety equipment and bottled water are all included on this tour. One way transportation from hotels in the La Fortuna area can take between 15 and 45 minutes depending on hotel location, making the combined time of tour and transport approximately 3.5 to 4.5 hours long. For both activities you should wear long pants and fully enclosed hiking shoes. Please bring sunscreen, insect repellent, rain jacket, camera and possibly your binoculars.

It begins at the hotel’s reception area where you will meet your guide who will take you into Tenorio National Park. After a short upwards hike, you will see the beautiful 300-foot Rio Celeste Waterfall cascading into a turquoise pool. There are 250 well-constructed steps with a handrail you can take down to an observation platform located next to the falls for amazing photos. After coming back up the steps, you’ll catch your breath before resuming your hike along the natural trails in the rainforest. You will take short rests at several more observation platforms until you reach the end of the trail to see the two mineral-rich rivers join turning their brown waters into one bright blue river. You’ll pause for a provided fruit snack before returning to the park entrance. This 4 to 5 hour moderate hiking tour includes a bilingual guide, park entrance, and a fruit snack. It is available only for guests staying at the adjacent Rio Celeste Hideaway Hotel, therefore transportation is NOT necessary. Please wear fully enclosed hiking shoes as the trail can become muddy during the wetter months. Long pants and long sleeve lightweight clothing are recommended along with bug repellent, bottled water, rain gear, camera, and binoculars.
